Legislative Committee

• Prepare reporting on the status and progress of all federal house and senate bills that impact the DME industry.  Present quarterly reporting to board and summary reporting to membership at the annual meeting
• Assist Public Relations Committee in the preparation of WAMES white papers on all relevant legislative issues at both state and federal levels.
• Assist Public Relations Committee in preparing lobbying materials and meet annually with members of the Wisconsin Congressional Delegation to discuss key legislative issues.
• Assist Public Relations Committee in preparing lobbying materials and schedule annual meetings with WAMES members and relevant Wisconsin State Senators and Representatives.
• Attend quarterly WAMES meetings with DHFS staff members.

Legislative Committee - Medicare

• Represent WAMES at the Region B Council meetings, assist Public Relations Committee in preparing press releases and reports of these meetings for distribution to membership
• Prepare reporting on the progress, successes, failures and general implementation of the competitive bidding program rollout to the first 10 MSA’s in 2007.  Present regular reporting to board and summary reporting to membership at the annual meeting.
• Facilitate membership meetings to prepare comments on all proposed CMS rulings that will affect the DME Industry.
• Assist Education Committee in developing programs to address and educate key committee issues if necessary.

Legislative Committee - Medicaid

• Attend quarterly WAMES meetings with DHFS staff members and report back to BOD.
• Foster a cooperative relationship between WAMES and DHSP.
• Work with Operations Committee – Public Relations to educate key Wisconsin Senate and Assembly representatives on issues facing the DME Industry.
